Thermal imaging for Moisture and Water Intrusion Surveys, leak detection
Moisture is found in every building, and in every home. If left alone and allowed to accumulate, moisture can lead to various problems such as mold growth and serious structural integrity issues. Moisture is the number one factor that causes buildings to deteriorate, and it is the number one ingredient needed for mold growth. Mold can begin to grow in as little as 24 hours in damp areas with temperatures between 4°C and 35°C (growing best between 25°C and 30°C). When the structural integrity of a building is compromised by moisture, various problems occur, such as reduced or permanently damaged insulation, rotten wood, corroded metals, staining of brick or concrete surfaces, deterioration of concrete, separation of bricks, crumbling mortar, and delamination.
With the use of an infrared camera, moisture and wetness in our building structures and building materials can be identified long before major problems begin (if moisture is caught early). Infrared imaging is also invaluable for tracking down where an established leak might be coming from. It is highly recommended that you have a thermal imaging specialist out to your home or business if you suspect the existence of wetness or moisture.

Why get an infrared moisture and water intrusion survey?
- Locate/eliminate moisture and control mold growth
- Quantify moisture hidden in walls and ceilings
- Identify wet and damaged drywall and insulation
- Use our full color digital images to show your adjuster where water has invaded your home
- Minimize loss by acting quickly to determine the extent of water intrusion
- Protect your investment
Indoor water or moisture can originate from many sources including breaks in a plumbing line, leaks in toilets and sinks, overflowed tubs, or broken dishwashers. Keep in mind that once there is visible water damage, like discoloration on drywall, the damage will exceed the discoloured area. Outdoor sources of moisture may include the weather (rain, snow, humidity, etc.), leaking hose bibs, air conditioner condensation lines, roof drains, and downspout or sprinkler system deflection.
Moisture Detection - Key to prevention of mold growth
Mold has existed in our environment long before the recent awareness of its presence in homes and businesses. The impact of mold on health is dependent upon the concentration of spores in the immediate area and the allergic effect on an individual. Potential health problems associated with mold exposure can take the form of allergic reactions or asthma.
