Case Study: Gratton Infrared Services Inc.
Gratton Infrared Services Inc was called to conduct an infrared survey of a 4,000 sq foot two story home in North Toronto. The home had just under gone a major renovation and the owner was please with the appearance of the renovations but was concerned with the drafts and the cold rooms within the newly renovated home. As a result of these concerns the owner wanted to have a complete infrared survey of the home to determine what the root causes of the drafts and cold areas.
Thermal imaging clearly identifies the missing insulation
Once the final infrared report was created and reviewed by the home owner Gratton Infrared asked if the owner wanted this report to be shared with Gratton Infrared’s approved insulation contractor. The owner agreed that having the insulation company review the report before they conducted a site visit to save both time plus improve the quality of the recommendations.
The insulation contractor was sent a copy of the electronic report and he had the opportunity to review both the digital and infrared images and report of the house to allow him to familiarize himself with the issues before he visited the home.

Once the report had been reviewed, a site visit was arranged to conduct a physical on site review of all of the areas that had been identified within the infrared report. After the site visit had been conducted a detailed quote was created that provided the home owner with an outline of what it would cost to correct each of the individual problem areas within the house on an a la cart basis.
The Gratton Infrared insulation contractor was now equipped with the right graphic information to allowed both the home owner plus the actual insulation installers to all be working from the same set of information and images to know exactly where the problems were and how to fix them most cost effectively within the house.
